What Drives Us
Knowledge. Understanding. Respect.
We believe that effective and successful partnerships with clients and candidates rest on three key pillars: knowledge, understanding, and respect.
Knowledge about clients, including their cultures, composition of practices, and industry strengths. Knowledge about candidates, including their backgrounds, substantive experiences, and hard and soft skills. Knowledge about trends in practice areas, the legal industry, and the economy.
Understanding clients' lateral hiring priorities, including the relevant practice areas, levels of experience, competencies, and soft skills that fit their talent needs. Understanding candidates' visions for their careers, including their long and short term goals, what they value in a team, and the unique strengths they bring to their jobs.
Respect for clients' time and for their talent needs. This means transparency and firm regard for their goals. Respect for candidates' time and their career aspirations. This means being honest, providing comprehensive guidance, and acting ethically and with integrity.
Get to know me
I've been a legal recruiter since 2014, following 11 years of legal practice. Collectively, these 19+ years of experience have taught me that the most successful and rewarding results come from approaching clients and candidates with respect and an authentic desire to be of service. This means never losing sight of the fact that my role is to help candidates find the right fit for their career goals and to help clients find excellent attorneys for their firms' and enterprises' priorities. To that end, I strive to understand my candidates' and clients' needs, hewing to what matters to them throughout the process and my efforts . I also enthusiastically absorb and delve into market trends and practice area developments, all with the objective of effectively partnering with candidates and clients, with knowledge and awareness.
I'm an alum of Columbia Law School (class of 2003; Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar) and Smith College (class of 1995; magna cum laude; Phi Beta Kappa; Highest Honors in Philosophy). Following law school, I clerked for the late Honorable Mark R. Kravitz (District Court Judge, D.Conn). I spent three years as an Assistant United States Attorney (Civil Division) in the District of Connecticut before before joining Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (NY) as a litigation associate. I then joined Seyfarth Shaw LLP for three years before pivoting to my career as a legal recruiter, first with SJL Attorney Search, LLC (2014-2020), and then with Cardinal Search Partners, LLC (2020-2023).
Interests and loves: Running. Weights. Books. Volunteering at the ASCPA. Listening to podcasts while walking my huge dog (usually Andrew Huberman, Peter Attia, Howard Marks, and Ezra Klein).
